What Cakes Can Vegans Eat?
The quickest way to spot a vegan cake is by finding the vegan symbol, often a V shaped into heart.
The next best thing to do is remember the top vegan baked good brands such as Sweet Loren's Cookies, Miyokos, and Siete foods, or Made Good.
The next place to look is the nutrition label, specifically the section about allergens. If the cake contains no eggs, dairy, or honey, it is safe to say it is vegan. However, if the vegan is allergic to anything, ensure the product is made in a facility free from said allergen(check that it doesn't say "may contain: EX: dairy).
Raw cakes, made mostly of fruit and nuts are generally safe for vegans. Baked cakes might require more information digging.
However, it's very important to ask a vegan why they are vegan to safely source a cake for them. For example, some vegans are allergic to eggs, while other vegans simply avoid these ingredients for ethical reasons. If they have severe allergies, it's recommended to ensure the cake can be made safely or was made in a facility that is certified allergen-free for said ingredient(s).
Vegans can eat most cakes, as long as they don't contain any animal or animal by-products. This includes: eggs, milk, honey, shellfish, and more.
