Returns and Refunds policy
At Plant Pastry, we take pride in crafting every item with care, high-quality ingredients, and artistic attention to detail. Because our products are made-to-order and perishable, we maintain strict return and refund policies to ensure food safety and uphold the integrity of our business.
This policy is written in accordance with the Florida Cottage Food Law and standard practices across professional bakeries.
General Policy on Perishable Goods: (All Sales Final)
Due to the nature of our freshly prepared products, all sales are final once the item has been picked up or delivered. We do not accept returns on any food items, including but not limited to:(Cakes, Custom cakes, Wedding cakes, Cupcakes, Cookies, Pastries, Baked-to-order items, Extras such as Dried Fruit, Marshmallows, Sprinkles etc...)
Concerns or Issues with Your Order?
At Plant Pastry, customer satisfaction is important to us. While all sales are final due to the perishable nature of our products, we are committed to addressing any genuine concerns . Due to the nature of our small-batch operation, we are unable to offer refunds or remakes.
If you believe there is an issue with your order, your satisfaction is important to us. If there is an issue with your order, please notify us within 24 hours of receiving your item.
To be eligible for any resolution, the original product must be returned to us in as-received condition. This allows us to properly assess the issue, make sure to include this in your email to contact@plantpastry.com.
Your name and order number, A detailed description of the issue, At least 2–3 clear photos of the product (including packaging and any visible problem)
Issues reported after 24 hours of receipt will not be considered, Products that have been significantly consumed, altered, or mishandled cannot be reviewed. Claims without the return of the original product or required documentation will not be processed.
1. Perishable Product Policy (All Sales Final)
All of our items—including cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other baked goods—are considered perishable and custom-made. Therefore, all sales are final and non-returnable once items are picked up or delivered.
2. Quality Concerns & Reporting Timeframes
If there is a concern about the quality or accuracy of your order:
You must contact us within 24 hours of receipt
Include: order details, a clear description of the issue, and photos of the product (including any packaging or damage)
Claims submitted outside this timeframe or without required documentation may not be eligible for resolution.
What Is Not Considered a Quality Issue:
Personal preference (e.g., not liking the taste or texture)
Color tone variations from digital mockups (due to natural dye or lighting)
Slight differences in design due to hand-decorated nature of the product
Damage occurring after pickup or delivery (e.g., melting, smudging, collapse from improper transport or storage)
3. Custom Cakes (Non-Wedding)
Custom celebration cakes are made to client specifications. We do not offer refunds for:
Cancellations within 7 days of your scheduled date
Subjective dissatisfaction with flavor or appearance if the product meets agreed-upon design
Damage after pickup or improper storage (e.g., melting from heat or uneven transportation)
Deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations made more than 7 days before pickup/delivery may qualify for a credit toward a future order (valid for 6 months), subject to approval.
4. Wedding Cakes
Wedding cakes require significant planning, time, and coordination. Our policy for wedding cakes is as follows:
A non-refundable retainer is required to secure your date (50%)
Full payment is due 14 days prior to the event
Cancellations less than 14 days before the event will not receive a refund
Final design, guest count, and delivery details must be confirmed 3 weeks before the event
Refunds are not issued for:
Minor design variations
Weather or venue issues outside of our control
Dissatisfaction with artistic interpretation after client approval
If Plant Pastry cannot fulfill an order, we will contact you in order to arrange either a full refund or equal-value substitution will be offered at our discretion.
5. Order Accuracy & Pickup Responsibility
All orders are reviewed for accuracy. Customers are responsible for:
Inspecting their order at pickup/delivery
Providing correct delivery information
Transporting and storing products properly (cool, flat surface, indoors)
Once the product leaves our premises or is confirmed as delivered, Plant Pastry is no longer liable for any damage.
6. Delivery Conditions
We offer local delivery within designated areas (North Florida). We also offer extended delivery to East Central Florida (Orlando area) for orders over $500. If no one is present at the confirmed time and address:
We will attempt to contact you. Our drivers have other deliveries and can't deliver unless a person is present to properly store and inspect the cake.
A re-delivery fee may apply
If re-delivery is not possible, no refund will be issued
We are not responsible for delays or failures due to incorrect addresses or failure to follow delivery instructions.
7. Non-Refundable Add-Ons
No refunds will be issued for:
Cake toppers and florals
Rush fees
Design consultations or sketch services
Delivery and service charges
These are considered final sale.
8. Exceptions & Resolution Options
Refunds or credits may be offered at our discretion only if:
A proven issue directly caused by us (e.g., incorrect flavor or design)
The issue is reported within the designated timeframe
The product is mostly intact (e.g., not eaten or altered beyond 25%)
Resolution options may include:
Partial refund
Future credit
Product remake (if time allows)
Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days, depending on your payment provider.
9. No Liability for Taste Preferences
Taste is subjective. We do not issue refunds or replacements based on:
Flavor preferences
Sweetness levels
Texture or style if made to specification
We strongly encourage cake tastings for wedding orders to help ensure satisfaction.
10. Legal Notice (Florida Cottage Food Law)
As a Florida Cottage Food Operation:
We prepare our products in a home kitchen not inspected by the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services
We are not permitted to ship baked goods across state lines.
Products are intended for direct-to-consumer sale only
Limitation of Liability:
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plant Pastry shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to the use or consumption of our products, including but not limited to health reactions, loss of enjoyment, or event disruptions.
11 .Force Majeure
Plant Pastry is not responsible for failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, illness, utility failures, government actions, transportation delays, or supply shortages.
12. Allergy Disclaimer
At Plant Pastry, we take food safety seriously—but due to the nature of our kitchen and ingredients, we cannot guarantee that our products are free from allergens.
We are not a certified allergen-free facility. While we take care to minimize cross-contact and sanitize between batches, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of trace allergens due to shared equipment and surfaces.
All of our baked goods are produced in a home kitchen that may process or come into contact with common allergens, including but not limited to:
Wheat (gluten)
Soy
Nuts (including peanuts and tree nuts)
Coconut
Sesame
Corn
Oats
Chocolate
Fruits
Plant-based milk (almond, oat, soy, etc.)
Although we do our best to avoid cross-contamination and sanitize all surfaces and tools between uses, we cannot guarantee that any product is 100% allergen-free—even if it does not contain the allergen as a primary ingredient.
About Our Gluten-Free & Dairy-Free Products:
Our gluten-free and dairy-free products are made without those ingredients as primary components.
These items are best for individual with intolerances or dietary preferences, not for those with allergies or celiac disease. (If unsure about your condition, please consult a doctor before ordering)
Customer Responsibility:
It is the customer’s responsibility to inform us before placing an order if they or someone consuming the product has a known allergy or sensitivity. By purchasing, you acknowledge and accept the risk of possible allergen exposure.
Liability Waiver:
Plant Pastry is not liable for allergic reactions or health-related issues resulting from consumption. Purchasing or consuming our products constitutes agreement to this policy. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plant Pastry shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to the use or consumption of our products, including but not limited to health reactions, loss of enjoyment, or event disruptions.
Agreement to Terms:
By placing an order or attending a Plant Pastry workshop or event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions in full.
